Introduction

As a practitioner in Somatic Trauma Therapy--sometimes called bodymind therapy--I offer a broad menu of skills, listed below, designed to resolve the effects of trauma, loss, fear, injury and pain and restore your full authentic capacity.  Together we will personalize your treatment program to fit your specific goals.  Using your body awareness, we "log-on" to your dormant strengths and resources to relieve the discomfort in both body and mind and gently retrieve your natural wellness.  Some of these essential tools include:

Somatic Experiencing®

Somatic Experiencing works mentally and physically.  It is gentle, non-threatening and very effective in replacing old limitations with healthy shifts in awareness.  These new bodymind connections free up restrictive patterns in thinking and functioning.  Relationships, coping skills, negative thoughts, self-esteem, anxiety, depression and many other issues respond well to SE.

As a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, I use this state-of-the-art therapy for resolving the physical, emotional and spiritual leftovers of trauma that may hinder our daily life, even if the trauma happened a long time ago.  Pioneered by Peter Levine, Ph.D., author of Waking the Tiger, SE goes beneath the thinking mind to the deeper, sensory/feelings mind and reawakens our healthy, instinctive responses to threat, fear, loss, shock--the various contributors to trauma--so that we're no longer a victim.

CranioSacral Therapy

CST is effective for pain, injury, post-surgery, learning problems, emotional issues, migraine, sinusitis, immune problems, chronic fatigue, fibromyalia, disorders of the muscular, skeletal and nervous systems, connective and scar tissue problems, TMJ pain, tinnitus, chronic pain, poor mobility, scoliosis, infantile disorders, autism, and hearing and vision problems.

I am an Advanced CST Practitioner, working with either physical or mental issues or both.  CST is a light, hands-on technique in which the craniosacral system--the skull, brain, neurological membranes, spinal fluid, vertebrae, sacrum and nerve roots--is allowed to discharge, tension, pain, dysfunction and reset itself with greater balance.

Medical QiGong

Medical QiGong is another gentle, yet effective way to help the body and mind become more balanced, reconnect our interdependent organs and attitudes and restore health.  As a medical QiGong practitioner, I use breathing, movement and imagery to enhance the special needs of a client.  Just as an MRI detects the state of organs and tissue groups, medical QIGong helps clarify and treat some underlying and accompanying conditions of old traumas, such as enabling injured tissue to discharge pain.  Applications for medical QiGong are endless and it's very compatible with other therapeutics.

A graduate of Beijing's International Medical QiGong Institute,  I work with the bioenergy of good health.  QiGong, the predecessor of acupuncture, is over 5,000 years old.  Qi means life force energy and Gong means practice or ability.

Professional Life Coach

Anyone who wants to change their life will benefit from having a life coach.  I hold several certificates from the College of Executive Coaching and see coaching as an action oriented, step-by-step process that enables you to discover your hidden talents, increase your strengths, deal honestly with resistance, both internal and external and ultimately arrive at your chosen goal.  You choose your professional, personal, relational, emotional, spiritual goals and take real-world steps each week with my encouragement and guidance.

Because sessions are conducted on the phone, 30-40 minute each week for at least three months, clients can live anywhere.  The tax-deductible fee is paid monthly in advance.  Each week we pursue a phase of the goal and assess your progress.  As your coach, I help you stay on track, overcome hurdles and achieve outstanding results.

Educator

Since 1990, I have been associated with several learning centers, namely The National Holistic Institute, formerly The Touch Therapy Institute in Encino, CA, Pierce College in Woodland Hills, CA and The Foundation for Human Enrichment, faculty assistant since 2001 for Somatic Experiencing® trainings.

Whether introducing students to the types and benefits of bodywork, the relationship of the cognitive and intuitive minds or the physiology of trauma, my aim is to help people expand their vision and activate their authentic selves.  Rather than think outside the box, it's empowering to think and feel in new ways that make our box bigger.  This gives us more capacity for balance and authenticity, actualizing our untapped gifts on a daily basis.
